At The Reading Nook, we have taken the guesswork out of selecting the best children's books by doing the research for you. Here you will find high quality children's literature recommended by reading experts. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), 38 percent of students in fourth grade read below the basic reading level (http://nces.ed.gov/). Research also shows that students spend an average of 7.1 minutes daily in reading practice during their school years. What would happen in sports if our players only practiced seven minutes each day? Students who read for pleasure daily and often hear books read aloud are the students who achieve higher reading levels.
Following is a list of suggested books for your fourth grade student.
