Welcome to The Reading Nook!
Here at The Reading Nook, we are passionate about children's books and recognize the need to provide quality children's literature for parents and teachers. Our bookstore was created by teachers and parents for teachers and parents.
The founder of The Reading Nook has taught elementary school for many years. While giving reading presentations on the local and state level, she shared ideas for integrating children's books across the curriculum and strategies to improve reading skills. In addition, she has served on her district's benchmarks committee where she helped realign standards for reading and mathematics, and she has helped train new teachers. Finally, she is a parent of five who is fostering a love for books in her own children. She lives with her family in Georgia.
Here at The Reading Nook, we have taken the guesswork out of finding the best books. Whether you are searching for a great read aloud book or a book your child can read independently, you will find highly recommended selections by reading experts. In addition, teachers may choose to integrate the curriculum or develop lesson plans by selecting children's books that introduce or complement math, science, or social studies concepts. When influencing young and veteran readers, one of our goals is to develop lifetime readers. We must change their attitudes and show them the excitement and emotion found in great books. Some of our own fondest memories are centered on books that made us laugh and books that made us cry.
